The Ruger MAX-9 is a micro-compact 9mm Luger pistol built for personal protection and concealed carry. A 3.20" cold hammer-forged barrel and 6" overall length keep the package small at 18.4 oz. Capacity is 12+1 from one 12-round magazine, and a 10-round magazine is included. The through-hardened alloy steel slide and barrel wear a black oxide finish over a glass-filled nylon grip frame.

It is striker fired with a short pull, clean break, and positive reset, plus an integrated trigger safety, manual safety, internal striker blocker, and loaded-chamber inspection port. Sights are a tritium fiber optic day/night front and a drift adjustable rear. The slide is optic ready for direct mount of JPoint and Shield-pattern micro red dots that can co-witness. A reversible magazine release and a finger-extension floorplate let the shooter set up the grip for carry or control.
